1. The Government of Chile does not fully adhere to international human rights law concerning indigenous peoples, including the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Convention 169;
   
   
2. The suffering the Mapuche people have endured due to forced evictions from their lands in the name of the ‘common good’, ‘development’, industrialisation and privatisation, and other governmental policies and development projects which have further eroded the Mapuche way of life;
   
   
3. The Government of Chile, in the planning and construction of hydroelectric dams in the Bio-Bio region and a highway that would destroy thousands of homes, religious sites and cemeteries, and cause socio-cultural, economic and environmental upheaval.

1. CALLS ON the Government of Chile to recognise the right of self-determination of the Mapuche people and the rights of indigenous peoples, including the ILO Convention 169.
   
   
2. CALLS ON the Government of Chile to respect and uphold its own and all international laws concerning indigenous peoples, especially with respect to the construction of dams in the Bio-Bio region, the bypass in the Ninth Region and the coastal highway in the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Regions.
